Accessibility

Holmes is a welcoming and accessible church. Entrances and seating areas are available for those with mobility needs, and ushers are always ready to assist.

What to Expect in Worship

Our services follow a traditional order of Presbyterian worship—scripture, prayers, preaching, and the hymns of the church accompanied by organ or piano. Worship lasts around one hour.

We celebrate the Sacrament of Communion on the first Sunday of each month. All who trust in Jesus Christ are welcome to share in the bread and cup.

Dress comfortably. You’ll see everything from jeans to business casual—come as you are.

What About Children?

Children are always welcome in worship. Wiggles and whispers are a joyful part of life, and we’re glad to have them in the sanctuary.

Ushers are available to offer worship bags for little ones, and a quieter space can be provided if needed.

Sunday School & Fellowship

Before worship, the congregation gathers for coffee and fellowship at 9:45 a.m., followed by Adult Sunday School at 10:00 a.m. The class meets in the Rosebro Building and offers open, Spirit-led conversation about scripture and daily faith.

Visitors are warmly invited to participate.

Your First Sunday

When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by ushers who can offer a worship guide, help you find a seat, or answer any questions you may have. Many visitors tell us they felt at home here from their very first Sunday—and we hope you will too.

If you’d like to connect ahead of time or let us know you’re planning a visit, feel free to reach out to Rev. Vernon Murray at 757-377-2275.

We look forward to welcoming you.
